'News From The Empire' 2026

News from the Empire I, II, III (2026) uses fragments of Manchester Evening newspaper dated 1933 and 1937, which were discovered in the artist's house. The papers reference different share prices for commodities mostly originating from countries under British rule.
The fragments have been used to create cyanotype prints. The blue Prussian prints are an early printing technique used by botanists to collect prints of plant species and also became a method of creating blueprints in the 1800s-1950s.

News from the Empire I, II, III (2026) alludes to the blueprints of how the West expanded its control over countries rich in resources through exploitative colonisation.
