The Things In-between 2026

The Things In-between, explores the shared connections between place and memory, past colonial histories, and future belonging.
The installation comprises discarded materials and objects carefully selected from Beattie’s home, a 1920s ex-council house in South Manchester. Beattie’s work frequently examines the concept of belonging and existence on the land and considers the impact of human activity on it.
The work, What Lies Between (2026), alludes to the hidden connections between people and place. It asks us to consider the narratives of the past and the possible narratives of the future.
