Sculpting Landscapes

Participants were encouraged to create a landscape inspired by the exhibition: Sleep in Witness, by artist Lungiswa Gqunta at the Henry Moore Institute, Leeds. By drawing on my own practice and highlighting some similarities between myself and Gqunta's work, participants were given materials such as newspaper, wire and clay to sculpt their own houses and landscapes.

Temporary shelters

Participants were encouraged to create a temporary shelter inspired by the exhibition: Weight of Words, a group show drawing on poetry and sculpture at The Henry Moore, Leeds. By drawing on my own practice and highlighting some similarities between my work and that of the other artists, participants were given materials such as newspaper, card, tape and straws to sculpt their own temporary shelter. We then went on to use the words and stories found in the newspapers to create our own poetry along side our sculptures.
